Watermark Opens the Doors to Maritime Simulation Training

In late March this year, Watermark Group welcomed visitors to its Maritime Simulator Open Day at the Lakeside facility in Hampshire, offering industry professionals and guests the opportunity to experience the company’s advanced maritime simulation capabilities firsthand.

Throughout the open week, visitors were able to tour the simulator centre, see bridge simulators in operation, and speak directly with the Watermark team about how simulation technology can support crew development, operational readiness, and maritime safety.

The reopening of the simulator centre has already attracted attention across the maritime and cruise industries, with several industry publications highlighting the importance of bringing high-fidelity maritime training facilities back into active use.

Modern maritime simulation provides significant benefits for both new and experienced seafarers, allowing crews to safely train in a controlled environment for real-world bridge operations, emergency response scenarios, navigation challenges, and vessel management. Facilities such as Watermark’s simulator centre help bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical operational experience, improving confidence and decision-making before crews step onboard live vessels.

The Open Day also demonstrated Watermark’s continued investment in maritime training and professional development, reinforcing the growing importance of simulation-based learning within the global shipping and cruise sectors.
